It began with the caricatures that saturated American media during the Yellow Peril, the era of extreme xenophobia aimed at Chinese and East Asian laborers. Rather than bury those images, this zine exhumes them and redraws what they were meant to describe. Part one is the monster catalog. A pantheon built through archival research, CGI, photography, and AI Tools. Figures once drawn to make a people look alien, redesigned to hold their own power. Part two is FORTUNE HOUSE 命館, the magical realist short that came out of it, about immigration, belonging, and the hidden economies of survival.
